Welcome to Cambridge Street Pastors

Saturday nights in Cambridge can be quite a buzz, with many pubs and clubs stay open into the small hours with at times thousands of people enjoying the party atmosphere.

Drawn from local Christian churches, Street Pastor volunteers patrol the streets in the centre of Cambridge from 10pm to 3am Saturday night to help any in difficulty without judgement or discrimination.

On many Saturday nights, we also run NightLite 'safe space' in Downing Place United Reformed Church from 10pm to 3am.  This safe space offers a place to wait, chat, recharge your phone, receive assistance, sleep or just use the loo! All the Street Pastor and NightLite volunteers are from Christian churches and want to demonstrate the unconditional nature of God's love through caring, listening and helping the Cambridge night time scene.

What We Do

Well trained and fully equipped, the Street Pastors aim to provide a listening ear, practical help and Christian concern for all people, whether upset or sick or just needing someone to talk to.

We also run NightLite (based in Downing Place, URC Church) also provides a safe place for people to wait, recover, find a listening ear or just chill out.

Volunteering

Street Pastors are volunteers recruited from local Christian churches that we feel confident can fulfil the personal specification, and commit to training and regular patrols ( approximately one night per month).

We always welcome people, as a first step, to come out with us on patrol as an observer.
